The World’s Greatest Animal Project is an ambitious undertaking with the aim of solving one of the greatest untold tales in human history. How animals have not only shaped our entire culture but progressively become victims of an increasingly industrialised mass-agriculture industry that is causing untold damage not only to the planet but to the creatures that have shaped our cultures, lives and past.
Every day, millions of animals are abused by criminals, kept in cramped and appalling conditions, or slaughtered in the cruellest way, to feed an industry, that can never be satisfied. Yet nobody knows what is happening. This industry sanitizes our meat and other animal products, packaging them in plastic, so we forget that it comes from a living thing. It relies on our ignorance, willful and otherwise, in order to continue committing one of the greatest crimes in our shared history.
History has shown us, time and again, that the best way to combat injustice and that is education. Steven Z.A.’s vision is to bring the parallel history of animals to classrooms around the world and create a global movement to end the mistreatment of animals, fish, whales, dolphins and any creature that shares this beautiful fragile planet with humanity.

Welcome to the World’s Greatest Animal Project
Humanity and animals have been linked since ancient man etched pictures of buffalo on cave walls in France. It’s a shared history of triumph and pain and it is one that remains largely untold. Despite the increasingly compelling body of evidence that animals are deeply intelligent beings, capable of affection, suffering, pain, love, and fear; we have been unable to change our broken system. Despite the hard-won victories, atrocities are still committed every single day:- Crocodiles are skinned alive to make handbags
- Whales and Dolphins are slaughtered for “science”
- Cows and Pigs are pumped full of antibiotics and kept in cramped cages
- Dogs are beaten and forced to fight for the amusement of crowds
- Pangolins are trafficked and many die on the way
- Tigers and Lions are shot for Chinese medicine
- Elephants and Rhinos are hunted for their ivory
Help Transform The Way Our Children See Animals
Steven is an experienced documentary filmmaker and the idea for Animals: A Parallel History first came to him during research for other documentaries He came across Jumbo, the largest known elephant in the World, from Barnum and Bailey’s circus. This led to him discovering more about the important role animals have played in our shared history. It was a history of triumph and tragedy, one of truly touching moments and shocking cruelty. Steven was shocked that this history was not taught in schools and so made it his mission to change the World. His project consists of Four components:- a feature documentary
- 2 books
- a compelling website
- a travelling exhibition
